Life Drawing Sessions

The weekly life drawing session that I attend is moving from the Fayetteville Underground to the University of Arkansas art building.  I will be one of the session moderators and have set up a website for the sessions. It’s a great group and I look forward to continuing drawing with them.

Life Drawings Spring/Summer 2011

I’ve found a local group of artists who have a weekly life drawing session!  I’m very rusty, but it’s been great fun.  Here are some recent drawings.

Package from Amazon

  • Pentel Pocket Brush Pen with two ink refills (I’ll be replacing them with fountain pen refillable converters).
  • The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst. Used, a bit roughed up, but cheap.  I’ll be wearing this edition out as well…

I just tried the pen out. A little more cheaply made than my Kuratake brush pen, but the line quality is great and it costs a quarter of what the Kuratake costs.  Best of all, I can carry it around with me and not worry about losing an expensive tool.

Some doodles to get the ink flowing in my new brush pen.

Pen and Ink Drawings

I started playing with a Rotring drawing pen the other day. It uses ink cartidges, of unknown quality and longevity, so I bought a converter that allows me to load my own ink; in this case, bottled sumi ink.
